Navi Future

While driving on my way to work today, a van on the farthest right lane decided that's not where it wanted to be and made its way to the farthest left lane to make a left. Apparently this person has NO idea that its okay to make a U-Turn.

Either way, I can't wait until all cars all come standard with GPS (or people buy the stick-on-your-dashboard kind). Then we'll have less people stopping traffic in order to get to the farthest opposite lane. Or at least, that's my hope. Lots of hope.

As these GPS(esssses? [more than one GPS!]) become popular, they will have a better voice variety. I hope that they come out with a "Dumb-ass" voice. Not in the sense that the voice speaking to the driver is dumb sounding, but they remind their driver to be aware about their surroundings.

"Are people passing you on the right?"
"Is there a line of 5 or more cars behind you while there are none in front of you?" (DMV says, "Move It!" (page 20, Turnout Areas and Lanes)Sure it says 2-lane HWY, but I think it should be applied to lanes farthest left)
"Stop tapping your brake, your making your passengers motion sick, and the person behind you paranoid and frustrated.
"You don't have to actually look at your passenger to talk to them. Keep your eyes on the road."
"Don't make me drive this thing!"
"Don't pace other cars."
"You defeat the purpose of being in the carpool lane."
"You left your drink on the top of your car."
"Look behind you before you drive in that direction."

Actually that last one is a good one. SUVs and larger vehicles are coming out with sensors now that let you know that there is something behind you, just in case you can't see. The problem is, a lot of people don't look anyway. I think this would be another great standard feature on all cars. And like voice variety, it would be great if they had sound warning varieties.
